What Are The Commonly Used Paper Box Packaging Materials?
Nov 29, 2023
The materials used for cardboard packaging include single-layer cardboard, double-layer or 3-layer cardboard, as well as 4-7 layers of composite cardboard. Due to the continuous expansion of the usage field of paper boxes and the increasing requirements for quality and performance, there is a trend of increasing the amount of multi-layer materials used. Common cigarette boxes, medicine boxes, cosmetic boxes, and some food boxes are mostly made of single-layer cardboard materials, while wine boxes and food boxes are mostly made of 2-3 layer composite board materials. Multi layer materials based on paper have been increasingly used in paper packaging with high barrier requirements. Single layer paperboard is generally 220-450g/M, and common 2-3 layer composite board materials are 500-600g/m. Its main structures include paperboard/fine corrugated, film/paperboard/paperboard, film/paperboard/fine corrugated and other forms. The production of multi-layer composite paperboard often uses coating and composite processes, and some paperboards can reach a fixed quantity of 600g/m or above, up to 1000g/m.
From the current paper box printing market, when ordinary cardboard boxes are adjusted towards mid to high end cardboard boxes, non absorbent composite cardboard is generally used to replace ordinary fiber cardboard in printed cardboard. Due to the common use of composite cardboard for cigarette packaging boxes, there are two types of cardboard: aluminum foil composite cardboard and laser composite cardboard. When printing on laser film composite cardboard, UV ink is generally used to improve ink adhesion. To ensure the molding effect and cigarette packaging speed, a PET laser film of 12 is often used.
